China’s diplomacy is in full swing with several high-level visits being undertaken by the Chinese leaders. The new Chinese President and Premier have been visiting strategically important countries in an effort to connect globally and regionally. These visits have specific economic agendas both for the donor and the recipient.

“Trinidad, a leading supplier of natural gas, was the first stop of a four-country trip in the region for Xi. He headed for Costa Rica, and also planned stops in Mexico and the United States.”

“During his stay in Trinidad, Xi also announced that China was awarding a $250 million loan to build a children’s hospital. He signed a memorandum of understanding to advance cooperation in energy, mineral and infrastructure development, among other areas.”
