‘China fever’ seems to have caught on in India as well.
The School of Chinese Language, Kolkata, India successfully held its first HSK Chinese proficiency test in May 2013.
This is definitely a positive step in India-China relationship given that problems between the two always gets highlighted in the Indian media. I’m not too sure whether any Indian daily carried this particular news.
By the way, Kolkata also has a sizeable Chinese population in a place called Tengra. The Chinese there are more Bengalis than Chinese. Their Chinese food is extremely popular and one often comes across Chinese in many local beauty parlours!!
