Wife of Chinese President plays steel drum after watching artistic show in Trinidad & Tobago

The picture of Peng Liyuan, wife of President Xi Jinping, playing the drum in a Caribbean country, infuses hope, not only amongst the Chinese women but the entire women fraternity. While Liu Yongqing, the former first lady was conveniently ‘invisible’, Peng Liyuan’s growing stature promises to change much of the situation in China. This is China’s evolving soft power!
