2013 has been a complicated, productive and exciting year for CCPN Global in which we have completed a transition from China in Comparative Perspective Network (CCPN) at LSE to CCPN Global – an interdisciplinary academic society (Registered Charity No.: 1154640).
I. CCPN Global’s achievements:
1. Contractions of websites and related blogs:

Due to limited resources CCPN Global’s websites contain some previous work with minimum maintenance. The websites and blogs are in use while they are being built which is adapted from the China’s development style in order for you to share our resources in a timely fashion. There is still a huge amount of work to be done. Apologies for missing contents and broken hyperlinks which will be updated over the next few months.
2. Publications:
- Submitted an edited volume Society building — China’s development at the next stage, selected papers from the IFCCS5 that CCPN co-organised, to Cambridge Scholar Publishing
- Published the 3rd issue of Bijiao: China in Comparative Perspective Book Review (CCPBR)
- Published and printed the 1st previously edited JCCP issue
3. Events:
- Successfully held Max Weber and China conference at SOAS
- Successfully held Migrants from the BRICS Countries Shape the Global Society conference at LSE
4. Research:
- Current and long term development of research projects
- Carrying out Chinese language for Social Science
II. CCPN Global’s features:
- A unique academic society for the study of China & the Chinese from a comparative perspective
- The sole English and Chinese bilingual website in the English speaking world focusing on the social scientific study of China
- The only peer-reviewed English and Chinese Bilingual Journal for social scientific studies on China in the world
- An innovative idea & methodology of transferring knowledge from a Chinese perspective to participate in shaping a global society
III. CCPN Global supports:
- The Campaign for Social Science, which was launched by the Academy of Social Sciences, CCPN Global is one of sponsors;
- The Campaign for Languages Speak to the Future, which was initialled by the British Academy as part of its Language and Quantitative Skills Programme.
Due to high demand and practical concerns, from 2014 JCCP will be published as a quarterly. At beginning of the New Year we will make a series of calls for themes, papers, journal subscriptions, and memberships. Your continued support, as the source of CCPN Global’s life, is extremely appreciated.
